Overview
Licensure is a two-part process: pass the national board examinations, then meet the requirements of the state, territory or province where you intend to practice. Logan builds preparation for both into the Doctor of Chiropractic degree, so you sit for exams inside a structure you already know — same campus, same faculty, same review rhythm every trimester.
NBCE Examinations
The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners administers the exams required for U.S. licensure. Logan students take them in stages across the program.
Part I | Basic sciences — anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pathology, microbiology Part II | Clinical sciences — diagnosis, imaging, principles of practice Part III | Clinical competency — case management and patient communication Part IV | Practical skills — imaging interpretation, technique, case management. Eight patient-encounter stations (seven on case management, one on chiropractic technique), a written patient note in place of multiple-choice post-encounter questions, and testing three days a week, 48 weeks a year Physiotherapy | Separate examination required by many state boards
Parts I, II, III and Physiotherapy are administered at Logan. Part IV is offered on campus through May 2026; after that date all Part IV testing takes place in Greeley, Colorado. The NBCE also seats Parts I, II, III and Physiotherapy at chiropractic colleges throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Board Preparation at Logan
Preparation is continuous rather than crammed. Board-preparation modules sit in Canvas alongside your coursework, Mock Board Exams run each trimester under real exam conditions, and faculty hold tutoring and review sessions in the weeks before every testing window.
Board Exam Scholarships
Logan students can apply for financial support toward national board examination costs, including NBCE Scholarships and NCMIC Scholarships. Talk with your Success Coach about deadlines, which fall well ahead of each testing window.
Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board
Students planning to practice in Canada complete the CCEB Written Examination followed by the Clinical Examination (OSCE), in that order. Logan's board-preparation resources support both examinations, and Logan sends the CCEB a final transcript within three months of the Clinical Examination.
How do I get my CCEB certificate?
CCEB certificates are only issued upon successful completion of all required examinations and once official proof of graduation and a final transcript have been received. Confirmation of successful graduation must be received by the CCEB directly from the chiropractic program within three (3) months of the date of successful completion of the Clinical Examination, after which time the examination results will be deemed null and void, with no refund or credit given of fees paid for such examination.
Do I have to be a Canadian citizen to write the CCEB exams?
No. International candidates, including U.S. students, are eligible to take the CCEB exams.
What are the requirements for my application photo?
Email a passport-style photo of yourself (not a photo of a photo), taken within the last year. Photos that don't meet these requirements may be rejected:
- A clear, close-up, full front view of your face.
- Taken against a well-lit, plain white or light-colored background, with enough contrast that your features stand out clearly.
- Received by the application deadline.
