Students, Faculty Support St. Louis Puerto Rican Society

Logan University Assistant Professor and Clinician Mero Nunez Jr., DC, along with Logan students Raul Vazquez and Jose Nieves, supported the St. Louis Puerto Rican Society at a local fundraiser on February 23.

The fundraiser was held at Mayo Ketchup, a casual/traditional Cuban, Dominican, and Puerto Rican restaurant, in Lafayette Square. The owner, Mandy Estrella, also known as Plantain Girl, sponsored the fundraiser, and 20% of all of Mayo Ketchup’s sales from the day benefitted the St. Louis Puerto Rican Society.

The Puerto Rican Society awards scholarships annually to Hispanic students to continue their education at a college, university, or other institution of higher learning, whether for study at the undergraduate or graduate level. Professors and students from Logan joined to support the cause. Logan students who attended also had the opportunity to meet some of the Society members and conversed about chiropractic and their transition to St. Louis as a student.
