Logan University’s College of Health Sciences is excited to launch seven-week courses for the online Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program, beginning in August 2025 for new students.
The shift from the current 15-week course format to seven* weeks will allow full-time students to complete the MSHI program in just one year. “The shorter sessions allow students to complete the program faster, but the amount of quality coursework does not change,” said MSHI program director Regina Glenn, PhD, RHIA, CHDA, CCS, CPHIMS. “Students should prepare to manage their time effectively, staying on top of assignments and responsibilities.”
In the seven-week format for the MSHI program, full time enrollment is considered nine credit hours for the term. Part time is considered six credit hours.
We are delighted to announce that MSHI students will still have the opportunity to select their choice of three tracks: healthcare leadership, data analytics and applied informatics.
The MSHI program is the third program within Logan’s College of Health Sciences to make the course format shift from 15 to seven weeks. The Master of Science in Sports Science & Rehabilitation launched this format in Spring 2025 and most recently, the Doctor of Education in Health Professions Education for Summer 2025.
Dr. April Taylor, Vice President of the College of Health Sciences and Student Affairs, continues the work of reformatting some of masters’ programs to best align with student demand and a continued high quality degree. “Program directors have worked hard to reimagine and redesign curriculums to a seven-week format that invigorates student learning,” she said.

*Session 1 courses are seven weeks and one day.
