Frank Diaz, Ed.D, has been named Associate Provost and Dean at Logan University, overseeing the Department of Curriculum and Distance Learning.
In Dr. Diaz’s new role, he will work with content experts, faculty support coordinators, academic technology and other senior academic affairs leaders to establish a clear vision and strategy for curriculum design, development and delivery for Logan’s online, hybrid and campus-based programs. He will also implement and manage the new program development process and provide leadership and mentoring to the online program directors. This role is an integral part of accomplishing the strategic priorities of the Department of Academic Affairs in alignment with the overall mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the University.
Dr. Diaz first joined the team as an independent contractor assisting the University with reimagining the Logan Basic course series for the College of Chiropractic. When the covid-19 pandemic caused Logan to quickly transition to 100% online education, Dr. Diaz stepped up to the challenge, demonstrating his knowledge, experience and demeanor as a perfect fit for this new role.
“I’m looking forward to using the experience of having to switch to online education overnight to improve and reimagine the overall student experience—for both online and in-person courses,” said Dr. Diaz. “I’m looking at this process as a ‘rise from the ashes’ opportunity where we analyze each piece of our courses and programs and decide how we can make it better.”
For over 25 years, Dr. Diaz has leveraged his extensive education and organizational development background to identify, develop and implement comprehensive learning experiences.
“He is a very positive, motivated and creative team player with a proven track record designing and developing curricula, managing teaching and learning activities in partnership with faculty to deliver their course outcomes consistent with the current needs of their student audience,” said Provost Kimberly Paddock-O’Reilly, DHEd, MSW. “Dr. Diaz is skilled at bringing individuals and groups together to establish solid and collaborative partnerships that make the best better for the benefit of the student, and we’re thrilled to have him at Logan.”
