Logan University is proud to welcome the community of Chesterfield to the new Logan Park! The 4-acre green space now features a playground, trail, pavilion, and pickle ball courts. Families are encouraged to take advantage of and explore the new recreational activities the site now offers. Dr. Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD, President of Logan University, introduced Logan’s newest addition to the City of Chesterfield at the park’s grand opening on June 21.
“We’re very proud to have the park in this neighborhood,” said Dr. McDonald. “It is an honor for Logan to serve the community of Chesterfield and those around us.”
Bob Nation, City of Chesterfield mayor, attended the grand opening and emphasized the park being greatly welcomed by the surrounding neighborhoods and helping retain families in the area, thus enhancing property values.
“I think this is a tremendous cooperative agreement that will benefit not only the students and faculty of Logan University, but also the residents of Chesterfield,” he said.
Dr. Aaron Wahl, Chesterfield City council member for Ward 2 and 2004 graduate of Logan University, also believes the university’s donation of the recreational green space is beneficial for the community as a whole.
“This is a great example of private and public cooperation when we see a private organization and a governmental agency working together to provide something useful for the community,” said Dr. Aaron Wahl.
The grand opening was well-attended by community members and Logan staff and students. Guests enjoyed sno-cones and face painting while exploring the park’s amenities.
