Sheryl Walters, MLS
Reference and Instruction Librarian
Sheryl Walters started her library career as a library assistant at Logan from 1994 to 1998. She returned to Logan in 2003, received her MLS from the University of Missouri in 2009, and became Logan’s Reference and Instruction Librarian in 2010. She works with students, faculty, staff, alumni and field doctors on their information needs and provides reference services through the library’s databases, journals, research guides, instant messaging, and tutorials.
Sheryl is the Information Literacy instructor in the College of Chiropractic and is embedded in courses in the College of Health Sciences to teach students about using the library and critical evaluation of resources. She also serves as an editor for the Index to Chiropractic literature and is part of the scientific commission for the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters. Her ambition is to broaden access and knowledge of library resources through emerging technologies and current trends in information retrieval methods.
