Karen Dishauzi, DC, PhD, MEd
Associate Dean of Students, Student Wellness
Dr. Karen Dishauzi, Associate Dean of Students, Student Wellness, is also a Professor and a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic with licenses in the states of Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Florida. As the Associate Dean of Students, she oversees the Student Wellness area in Student Affairs, including Disability Services, Testing Center, Student Care Manager, and Student Conduct & Student Culture. She also coordinates the Anthology Beacon Student At-Risk program and coordinates the Kurzweil Education student success tool.
Dr. Dishauzi has received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award at Logan. She received the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award through the College of Education Graduate Program and was chosen to be in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key International Honor Society through the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is currently the president of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Logan University chapter.
Dr. Dishauzi holds professional certifications in Acupuncture, Internal Health Specialist, Scoliosis and Utilization Review/Quality Assurance. Dr. Dishauzi has a vast amount of experience to complement teaching in the various areas of Clinical Methods, Orthopedics, Physical Diagnosis, Medical Terminology, Clinical Nutrition, Neuromusculoskeletal Diagnosis and Higher Education.
Dr. Dishauzi received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Carlow College with a Certification in Special Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa.; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic; a Master’s in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis; and a PhD in Higher Education with the emphasis in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
