Joseph Davis, PhD

Adjunct

Dr. Joseph Davis is originally from Indiana, but now resides in Missouri. He feels he is fortunate to be able to work from my home as an online instructor teaching a variety of psychology and health science classes. He’s happily married and has three daughters and four pets.

Dr. Davis’ education started with a Bachelors of Psychology from Indiana University in 1987. After working one year at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport, he went back to school and eventually obtained his Masters degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology also from Indiana University in 1994. Working with athletes during his Masters internship sparked his interest in anxiety management and performance-related issues. That interest led him to seek and obtain his Doctorate in Sport Psychology through the Department of Health and Exercise Sciences at the University of Missouri in 1999.

After obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Davis’ work experience includes serving as Director of Student-Athlete Support at Fresno City College, Assistant Professor of Health Sciences at Missouri Valley College, Psychological Examiner for Jefferson City Public School District, and Adjunct Instructor of Psychology for several local and national colleges/universities including Logan University, Capella University, Columbia College and South University.
