Dr. Dana Underkofler-Mercer serves as Professor and Director of Strategic Partnerships for the College of Chiropractic at Logan University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree (1998), and a Master’s in Sports Science and Rehabilitation (2010) from Logan University. A certified Medical Laser Safety Officer, Dr. Mercer has lectured extensively on laser safety and clinical applications, presenting at Walter Reed Medical Center, Shanghai University, the University of Memphis, AFIDE in Havana, Cuba, and various postgraduate seminars and community organizations.
With a distinguished career spanning both academia, research and clinical practice, Dr. Mercer has practiced privately in the St. Louis area and has served as a clinician at Logan University’s Student and Outpatient Health Centers. Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding Logan’s healthcare initiatives, including the development of Logan’s health center at Paraquad, securing advanced clinical equipment for student training, and founding the Anatomy Centered Education and Science (A.C.E.S) summer workshop, which introduces high school students to careers in healthcare.
As a dedicated educator, Dr. Mercer has taught across Logan’s Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctor of Chiropractic programs, bringing a dynamic and practical approach to the classroom. She plays a critical role in student assessment and clinical education, serving as an administrator for student proficiency exams and a trainer for standardized patient simulations. In addition, she is an active member of multiple university committees and contributes her expertise to various community organizations.
Dr. Mercer’s commitment to excellence in education has been recognized with the Emerson Award for Excellence in Teaching, underscoring her passion for student success and professional mentorship.
