Melissa Engelson, DC, DHPE, MS, CSCS, DACBSP®, ICCSP, assistant professor and clinical assessor at Logan, was recently appointed to the American Chiropractic Association’s (ACA) Sports Council Bylaws Task Force.
The ACA Sports Council was established to help provide advanced educational programs to engage chiropractors who are committed to improving and promoting chiropractic treatment of athletes.
Dr. Engelson will be working to review and update the council’s bylaws. This term will culminate at the ACA Engage in 2022. This conference is part of ongoing efforts to educate members and provide networking and leadership-development opportunities.
“I have been waiting and watching for an opportunity to utilize my expertise with the ACA,” said Dr. Engelson. “When this position became available, I jumped on it.”
Heavily involved in sports chiropractic at Logan and as the Paralympic Medical Advisor for USA Para Powerlifting, Dr. Engelson believes the opportunity to join the task force under the sports council will help her grow professionally.
“The timing with this role lined up perfectly, as I now truly have the necessary time available to devote to this position,” Dr. Engelson said. “I’m really excited to be part of this task force and to have the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to better serve the chiropractic community.”
