Dr. David Berger: The Path to Pediatric Chiropractic

As a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic in The Netherlands, David Berger, DC was looking to take his career to the next level.

“I have always loved treating patients and helping people, but I wanted to upgrade my skills and knowledge in chiropractic, especially with kids,” said Dr. Berger, who earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2016. “It just felt like something I needed and wanted to do.

It was in practice that he discovered Logan’s new Master of Science in Integrative Pediatrics program. “I looked it up and sounded exactly what I was looking for and really wanted to apply and be a part of it,” he said.

The online program takes a deep dive into understanding of the anatomy, physiology, neurology and nutritional needs of pediatric patients while improving manual therapy skills with training in spinal, cranial and extremity techniques.

It was that depth of the curriculum, combined with a roster of international instructors, that sold Dr. Berger on pursuing the degree – and in fall 2022, he became part of the inaugural class.

Since beginning his courses, Dr. Berger said he enjoys the detail and depth of each topic and how every course builds on the last.

“I find myself taking more time to think about what each patient is presented with, and I have a broader base of knowledge to use when it comes to analyzing imaging like MRI, CT and radiographs,” he said. “I look forward to seeing how this degree will help me improve patient care and treatment in pediatrics and provide me with the best skills to help treat kids all over the world, where ever chiropractic takes me.”
