Elena Doctor, MS, CSCS-CSPS
Biography
Elena Doctor, MS, CSCS-CSPS serves as an Exercise Physiologist for the Human Performance Program (HPP) at the University of Missouri. Existing within the healthcare system, she trains individuals across the life and health span who are referred by a healthcare provider to implement strength and conditioning for improving health, function, and overall quality of life. Her ultimate career goal is to bridge the gap between the applied strength and conditioning setting, academia, and research. As a doctoral student for the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences program at Mizzou, she has been able to contribute to return to sport research using marker-less motion capture. In addition, she has been working with Logan University since 2023 teaching Exercise Prescription for Special Populations.
She received her master’s in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at the University of Missouri in 2021, where she served as a graduate assistant for MU Extension’s Stay Strong Stay Healthy Program and teaching assistant for various classes. During her master’s, she pursued certification as a Certified Special Populations Specialist (CSPS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and became a registered yoga teacher (200RYT). Prior to her time at Mizzou, she completed her bachelor’s in Biological Sciences at Le Moyne College, where she was a collegiate cross country and track runner and worked in the Sports Medicine Office.
