This Saturday, January 18, Logan University will host USA Para Powerlifting’s 2020 Regional Qualifier for the Colombia 2020 Road to Tokyo Para Powerlifting World Cup. Logan University – the high-performance management organization for Paralympic Powerlifting in the United States – is thrilled to be hosting on-campus events for USA Para Powerlifting in January 2020. Para powerlifting athletes will assemble in Logan’s Wellness Center on January 18 for the 2020 Regional Qualifier for the Colombia 2020 Road to Tokyo Para Powerlifting World Cup. Logan Learns Best Practices for Managing USA Para Powerlifting

Mary Hodge, High Performance Manager for USA Para Powerlifting, and Logan’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement Theresa Fleck recently attended the National Governing Bodies (NGB) Best Practices Meeting for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. The meeting, held in Anaheim, California, was established to help foster valuable working relationships among the National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and allow individuals from various NGBs and High-Performance Management Organizations (HPMOs) to collaborate among themselves on best-practice standards. Logan Reaffirms Commitment to Safety and Compliance at Summit

Logan University leadership took another step toward ensuring safety and compliance among all members of the Logan community. Last month, the Logan Paralympic Operations Department and the Logan Diversity & Compliance Department attended the second annual United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and US Center of SafeSport Summit. Gateway to Gold Event Introduces Youth to Para Powerlifting

Mary Hodge, high performance manager for USA Para Powerlifting, recently participated in one of four national Gateway to Gold events. The free events are designed for youth with physical and visual impairments to test their athletic skills in a Paralympic sport.   Earlier this month in Texas, the Houston Sports Authority & TIRR Memorial Herman, a rehabilitation hospital, hosted four sports: powerlifting, table tennis, fencing and archery. Hodge said the event was a great opportunity to expose youth to various sports. “The kids were excited, and very supportive of each other – it was just a lot of fun,” she said. …
