Evan McBee, a veteran combat medic in the U.S. Army, always wanted to further his career in the medical field. A current undergraduate physician’s assistant student at Logan University, Evan is thankful that he can earn his degree from Logan on his own time. “I really like the asynchronous schedule and the trimester system,” Evan said. “I’m not one to prolong things if I can help it. I can get my degree at Logan in two and a half years, and I like that I can pair my lecture classes with my lab classes.” Once employed as a paramedic, Evan …

Master of Science in Sports Science & Rehabilitation student Victoriano Mesa has always been an active person, but it wasn’t until just a few years ago that he started his journey in powerlifting. “Sophomore year of college, I was working out at the rec center and someone asked me if I was on the powerlifting team. MS-HI Student Ava Anderson’s Findings on Intimate Partner Violence and Telehealth

Ava Anderson is no stranger to technology, having a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering, which combines mechanical, computer and electrical systems. Emily Hoffman, founding member and current club president, is passionate about helping her fellow students near and far. “Online learning in such rigorous programs can get really lonely since you don’t get …

Dana Risher’s Path from Paramedic to Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Dana Risher has become comfortable caring for the human body after serving as a paramedic for 20 years. However, working 24-hour shifts has made it increasingly difficult for her to continue providing care for her family in their home state of California, so she decided to take the next step in her career. Dana earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiological sciences from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the late 90s, and then obtained her certification in sports massage therapy and therapeutic massage. Although she enjoyed her volunteer work providing therapy to Olympic-level cyclers and swimmers, she wanted to …

A family of four smiles at the camera

Meet Ron Armold, DC, MS and Danielle Armold, DC, MS, CAHTA, a husband and wife duo in Logan’s Doctorate of Health Professions Education (DHPE) program, as told by Dr. Danielle Armold. I actually started teaching at a local college at the same time I opened my chiropractic office in order to supplement our …
