Lora Timmons has been a higher education professional for 27 years, holding a variety of different roles from faculty, academic advisor and director of education to dean at two mid-sized, private universities in Chicago. She currently serves as the dean for nursing and health care at GateWay Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, a huge move she made in the middle of COVID (since she has lived in the Chicago area her whole life)! Working with first-year students has consistently been a passion for Lora, so this career choice seemed to be the right move in a much larger educational system. …

Sometimes, this comes in the form of partnerships with outside organizations, whether it’s joining forces with another university to create 3+3 agreements that allow students to fast-track their graduation, teaming up with unique and innovative organizations to offer incredible preceptorship opportunities, or implementing relevant on-campus services. Recently, Logan partnered with two new organizations to offer student support. COC Summer 2021 Scholarships Now Open

Logan University is offering two scholarships for College of Chiropractic students for summer 2021: Standard Process, Inc. Scholarship – $2,000 Toftness Clinical Excellence Grant – $1,200 Criteria for these scholarships can be found here. Applications opened today, Tuesday, May 4 and will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1. Scholarships help reduce overall student loan debt while connecting students to alumni and potential employers. Applications go through a blind selection process, meaning those who review the scholarship applications are not provided with information about the applicant, ensuring a fair selection process. Logan University Partners with University Hospitals Connor Integrative Health Network for Student Training

Logan University is proud to announce a clinical training affiliation with University Hospitals (UH) Connor Integrative Health Network in Cleveland, Ohio. The partnership was established through Logan graduate David Vincent, DC (’91), Buoncore Family Endowed Director of Chiropractic Medicine at UH Connor Integrative Health Network. Dr. Vincent was responsible for introducing chiropractic to the UH organization and has integrated chiropractic into a number of UH institutes, such as primary care, sports medicine, and spine and pain management. Logan’s BSHB Program Helps Veteran Achieve Dream of Attending Medical School

For James Robinson, Logan University’s Bachelor of Science in Human Biology (BSHB) program presented a path for him to achieve his dream of becoming a physician. James was a specialist in the United States Army’s 3rd Special Forces Group stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from 2006 to 2010. After he was disabled during combat while deployed in Afghanistan, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 2014. When he started working at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Southern Nevada Healthcare System as an advanced medical support assistant and intermediate care technician, he realized he wanted to study medicine. “My goal …
