DC Student Competes in IBTF World Baton Twirling Competition

From back pain to baton twirling, Miranda Proctor, trimester 2 Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) student, keeps herself busy. Miranda is competing in the IBTF World Baton Twirling Competition in England August 4-13. “It’s been a bit of a hectic schedule,” laughed Miranda. “In past years, I’d spend all day in the gym practicing. But with classes, homework and studying, I have had to time manage a lot differently.” This will be Miranda’s fourth time attending Worlds for baton twirling. East Central College Faculty Advance Their Teaching Skills with Logan’s Doctor of Education in Health Professions Education

Nancy Mitchell, MSN, RN is the director of nursing and dean of health science at East Central College (ECC) in Union, Missouri. Nancy attended ECC for her associate degree before earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Methodist University and her master’s in nursing from Maryville University. She came back to ECC as a full-time nursing instructor, a position she held for more than 15 years, until she was promoted to her current position. A Toast to Teaching: Drs. Hillgartner, Gutweiler, Cranwell Celebrate Combined 145 Years at Logan

Three College of Chiropractic faculty members recently celebrated a combined 145 years of teaching at Logan University: Roy Hillgartner, DC (’69), instructor; John Gutweiler, PhD, professor; and Richard Cranwell, DC (’76), MS, DACBN, professor. After decades of dedication, each educator has made his mark on the university. Dr. Cranwell—who is celebrating 46 years of teaching this April—has developed numerous courses for Logan, including static palpation, motion palpation, extremity adjusting and case management. Applying what he learned during a one-year internship with Clarence Gonstead, DC in 1976, he also founded Logan’s introductory and advanced Gonstead method courses, which he continues to …

Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning (MS-SC) student Logan Radik’s interest in sports science began during his time as a collegiate wrestler at Maryville University in Chesterfield, Missouri. After he graduated, he wanted to keep competing in some type of sport. “I stumbled upon the USA Bobsled Combine and decided to try out for the team,” Logan said. “I needed to train in order to do so, and my strength coach from Maryville agreed to train me.
