Logan University Celebrates New Fuhr Science Center with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

The Logan University community celebrated the dedication of the Fuhr Science Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tour on September 26, 2024. Arlan W. Fuhr, DC (‘61), founder and chairman of Activator Methods International (AMI) and the building’s namesake, spoke during the ceremony. “My wife and I have continued to invest in this university because it is an excellent place for students to advance their education in chiropractic and health sciences,” he said. “We believe bringing students to campus is the best way to recruit them because once they see it, they realize Logan is the place for them.” …

Simulation Center Helps Shape the Next Generation of Health Professionals

Logan University’s Simulation Center offers students a unique learning opportunity and is a multi-purpose resource for clinical simulation, testing and self-study. With an interest in athletics but the misfortune of being an accident-prone child, DaVonna Cola, MS (’21), LAT, ATC, FNS, found a different way to fulfill her athletic competitiveness: athletic training. “I liked being around athletics and knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but I didn’t want to be confined to an office,” DaVonna said. “Being an athletic trainer allows me to care for my athletes no matter the office space or scenery.” Originally from Denver, Colorado, DaVonna graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a dream of working at the …

Teresa Saxon Bridges Nursing and Technology with Health Informatics

Teresa Saxon, MS (’23), BSN, RN discovered a new passion that combined her expertise in nursing with technology – and that passion led her to recently complete Logan’s Master of Science in Health Informatics (MS-HI). Teresa’s journey into health informatics began while working as a nurse. Part of her role was to support fellow nurses with electronic health records, a digital version of a patient’s paper chart. She soon realized she enjoyed this aspect of her job, sparking a new interest in health informatics. Logan University Unveils Coggins Education Wing

Logan University unveiled the Coggins Education Wing, which encompasses the north end of Logan’s Administration Building. The wing is named after alumnus William Coggins, DC (’40), who served as Logan’s third president for 18 years. Under his leadership, Logan became nationally accredited and led the merging of Missouri Chiropractic College and Logan. In 1973, he greatly expanded Logan’s campus by acquiring the buildings and grounds of the former Maryknoll Seminary, where Logan is housed today.
