Logan University and City of Chesterfield officials break ground on Logan Park

Breaking Ground on Logan Park

Earlier this week, Logan University and City of Chesterfield officials took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Logan Park.

The Mayor was joined by City Administrator Mike Geisel; Thomas McCarthy, CPRP, Director of Parks, Recreation & Arts for Chesterfield; as well as City Council members Aaron Wahl, Gary Budoor, Michael Moore, Mary Ann Mastorako and Dan Hurt.

“Congratulations to the residents of Chesterfield, especially those who live in this ward,” said Chesterfield Mayor Bob Nation. “I am proud and pleased to have the opportunity to provide this park. Thanks to Logan for all their support and collaboration. This would not be possible without them.”

Logan Park will be the first and only park in Ward 3. The park, which will be developed and maintained by Chesterfield Parks & Recreation, will be located on Logan’s campus along Schoettler Road. The first phase of construction will include a playground, pavilion, bathrooms and a parking lot; phase two will focus on trails, native educational gardens, additional shade structures around the playground, two pickleball courts and a few additional amenities throughout the park.

Logan President Clay McDonald added, “It’s not only a tremendous opportunity for the residents but for the Logan community as well. The city has been wonderful to work with and we look forward to enjoying the amenities for many years.”
