Both a traditional pediatric diplomate certification and the Master of Science in Chiropractic Pediatrics program (MSCP) provide important pathways toward specialization in the field of pediatric chiropractic. There are two significant differences between the two programs:
- The master’s program offers over four times as much instructional content as a traditional diplomate program, with integration of content throughout the program. This allows students to take a deeper dive into the subject matter and literally become masters in the specialty of chiropractic pediatric.
- While diplomate certifications are overseen within the chiropractic profession, students graduate from Logan’s pediatrics program with a master of science degree, which is an academic degree that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, and hence one that’s recognized across professions.
Both the traditional diplomate certification and the master’s degree pathways are important avenues for specialization, and one doesn’t replace the other. Logan’s Master of Science in Integrative Pediatrics is for Doctors of Chiropractic who desire greater content, depth, and integration in their specialty training and who want to earn an academic degree that is recognized across professions.
For those who want both a pediatrics master’s degree and diplomate certification, graduates of Logan’s MSCP program qualify to register for the diplomate examination of the American Board of Chiropractic Pediatrics (ABCP).
