Logan is Proud Partner of DASA, USA Hockey & St. Louis Blues

Logan University is proud to be participating in the 10th Annual USA Hockey Sled Classic hosted by the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) and the St. Louis Blues and presented by the National Hockey League and USA Hockey. The event will be held Nov. 21-24 at the Centene Community Ice Center in St. Louis – the practice facility and community rink of the St. Louis Blues – and will feature a round-robin format tournament between 35 NHL-affiliated sled hockey teams.

Logan will be providing pre-and post-game care for athletes. “While we’ve had an affiliation with DASA for a while, this will be our first time participating in the Sled Classic, so we’re excited to give Logan clinicians and students the chance to participate in treating and managing the athletes in shifts throughout the event,” said Devon Ackroyd, DC, MS, CSCS, advanced practice clinician at Logan.

Students, faculty and staff volunteers who are interested in staffing the rink, preparing and working in the treatment room and assisting athletes should contact Dr. Ackroyd at Devon.Ackroyd@LoganHealthCenters.com.

The Sled Classic is free and open to the public; view the full game calendar here. Logan Day at the Sled Classic will be Saturday, November 23, at 12:50 p.m. for the game between the St. Louis Blues- and the Nashville Predators-affiliated sled hockey teams.
