Devorah Lucas, DBH, RDN, CDE
Adjunct
Dr. Devorah Lucas is newly hired adjunct faculty for Logan University. Devorah received her B.S in Nutritional Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA, and her M.S also in Nutritional Science from, California State University. She earned her Doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH), graduating with honors from Arizona State University. In addition, she is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
Devorah’s primary areas of research include type 2 diabetes in youth and adolescence, obesity, with and emphasis on behavioral health in prevention and therapy of disease. Throughout her career, she has been interested in different aspects of health and has expanded her clinical knowledge base to include athletic performance nutrition, body composition, and exercise physiology. She is currently researching athletic performance and plant based intakes.
Devorah practiced clinically for over 15 years in the medical environment. She enjoys sharing this experience with her students, now focusing all of her time on teaching. She currently writes, develops and teaches all aspects of health and nutrition classes online. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her backyard with her 15 year old daughter, Sage, in the Eastern Sierra Mountains, having Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Mammoth Mountain on one side and Mount Whitney, and Death Valley on the other, there is never a shortage of outdoor activities. Currently she is experimenting with “living off the grid,” not quite there yet, but having fun trying!
