Dr. Portwood completed his pre-medical studies in biochemistry at the Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma. He received a B.S. degree in Human Biology and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1991 from Logan Chiropractic College (now Logan University). He was the first chiropractor elected to the Missouri House of Representatives where he served from 2000 – 2008 until term limited. Dr. Portwood practiced in Manchester, MO prior to serving as the Chiropractic Physician at Scott AFB since 2008. His professional interests are in diagnostic ultrasound and he is certified to perform MSK Ultrasound at Scott AFB. He enjoys mentoring chiropractic externs from Logan University, National University, and Keiser University.
