Gabriel Valdes has come a long way in pursuit of his dream.
Originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, Gabriel graduated from Colegio Católico Notre Dame and later earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Universidad Ana G. Méndez, Recinto de Gurabo. He moved to the United States in August 2021.
With a passion for healthcare, Gabriel found an interest in chiropractic. Although he considered several different schools, Gabriel chose Logan University for its strong academic programs and exceptional student support.
“The support Logan’s faculty and staff provide is amazing,” Gabriel said. “They’re always there to help, and that made the decision easy for me.”
Gabriel is currently a trimester 9 student in Logan’s Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program and in the clinical internship portion of Logan’s Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation program.
Beyond his studies, Gabriel has taken on a leadership role as president of Logan’s International Allice. In this role, he promotes cultural representation and assists international students in preparing for work in multilingual and intercultural environments. His role also includes leading meetings, organizing special events and supporting smaller cultural groups on campus.
“Being able to connect with students from different backgrounds and help create a welcoming environment for them is a rewarding experience,” Gabriel said.
In his spare time, Gabriel enjoys hanging out with friends, watching volleyball and attending St. Louis Cardinals games.
After graduation, Gabriel plans to work as an associate chiropractor for a few years before opening his own clinic. With his commitment to helping others and passion for chiropractic care, he is eager to start the next chapter of his career.
