Keynote Speaker: Sylvie Di Giusto
International keynote speaker, Sylvie di Giusto, brings her expertise from a successful corporate career in Europe to every presentation. Formerly the head of a management academy and innovation hub, she developed innovative programs for high-end education with never-before-used training methods. As the Chief of Staff for the Chief Human Resources Officer of Europe’s largest tourism and retail group, Sylvie also coordinated all group-wide human resources teams and activities. Prior to that, at a consultancy firm, she implemented online and in-person training and development initiatives for Fortune 100 companies. Kathy Mills Chang, MCS-P, CCPC
Since 1983, Kathy Mills Chang, MCS-P, CCPC, has been providing Chiropractors with hands-on training, advice and tools to improve the financial performance of their practices. Kathy is a Certified Medical Compliance Specialist (MCS-P) and is one of fewer than 100 certified in the chiropractic profession. Now celebrating her 40th year in chiropractic, Kathy is not only a well-known and sought-after speaker, but has served in National and State level Chiropractic Organizations, sits on diverse boards and advisory councils related to the profession, and is frequently invited to address Chiropractors in important conferences and seminars around the country.
Dr. Mills Chang will be conducting a special seminar for chiropractic technicians, office staff and DCs, teaching you how to establish a sturdy and repeatable foundation for your reimbursement processes, and how to do so compliantly. From the doctor to the front desk to the billing department, every team member plays a vital role in ensuring financial success, while following important regulatory guidance.
Nofa Shibley, DC (’97), DACNB
Nofa Shibley, DC (’97), DACNB, graduated from Logan University as class valedictorian. She has been in private practice in St. Louis and has taught Thompson Technique at Logan for over 20 years. Dr Shibley is passionate about fitness and running and has completed more than 50 half and full marathons. Dr Shibley is currently an instructor for Logan’s DC program.
Dr. Shibley will be reviewing the Thompson Technique, a full-spine adjusting technique that emphasizes high-velocity, low amplitude, and some low-force procedures.
Nicolas J. Gatto, DC (‘83)
Nicholas J. Gatto, DC (‘83), graduated from Logan University’s College of Chiropractic and has been in private practice for over 27 years. Dr. Gatto co-edited the textbook “Spinal Biomechanics and Specific Adjusting” in 2000 and has taught postgraduate acupuncture for Logan’s DC students and the National College of Chiropractic for the past decade. In 2011, Dr. Gatto began assisting Dr. Loomis in teaching the Loomis System® and in 2018, Dr. Gatto was named a Logan University Postgraduate Faculty member.
Dr. Gatto will be presenting on the importance of food enzymes and bone health at the 2024 Symposium.
Kristina Petrocco-Napuli, DC, MS, FICC, FACC, DHPE (’23)
As an energetic international speaker, educator and practitioner, Kristina Petrocco-Napuli, DC, MS, FICC, FACC, DHPE (’23), received her DC degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences, a master’s degree in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University and her Doctor of Health Professions in Education from Logan. Dr. Petrocco-Napuli was the past and founding president of the ACA Women’s Health Council and was elected a Fellow in the International College of Chiropractors.
Dr. Petrocco-Napuli is the 2024 Dr. Beatrice B. Hagen Award recipient.
At the 2024 Symposium, Dr. Petrocco-Napuli will be giving a presentation titled, “Quality Person Centered Care and the Impact on the Landscape of Past, Present, and Future Practice.”
Weston Bussler, PhD
Weston Bussler, PhD, is a part of the Research and Development team at Standard Process as a Nutrition Scientist. His work involves translating novel research insights and natural product innovations into successful products and educational material for health care practitioners to support health and wellness. Dr. Bussler earned his B.S. in Nutrition at The University of Minnesota and continued his education at North Carolina State University where he earned a PhD in Nutrition Science with an emphasis in Food and Agriculture. His research at NCSU focused on the intersection of these three disciplines where he worked to connect plants to health conditions utilizing statistical genomics.
At the 2024 Symposium Dr. Bussler will present on, “A World of Interactions Within Us: Microbes, Biofilms, and Beyond.”
Patrick Montgomery, DC (’76), MS, FASA
Patrick Montgomery, DC (’76), MS, FASA, received his DC degree from Logan University, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. degree. He completed Logan University’s Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian. In 2017, he was named Educator of the Year by the Missouri Chiropractic Physicians’ Association, and he was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. Dr. Montgomery currently serves as a professor in Logan’s DC program.
Dr. Montgomery will discuss the Logan Basic Technique, a light force, full spine adjusting procedure highlighting the correction of spinal and pelvic pathobiomechanics.
Lindsay Banks, DC (’08), MS, CPT, CFMP
Lindsay Banks, DC (’08), MS, CPT, CFMP, is the owner of Healthy Motives 365 in Houston, Texas, an organization designed to help female clients transform their mindset and restore their bodies through chiropractic, healthy lifestyle coaching, hormone testing and more. A 2008 graduate of Logan’s DC program, Dr. Banks also has a master’s in exercise psychology and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner through Functional Medicine University. Dr. Banks currently serves on the American Black Chiropractic Association Board as the National Board Review Chair.
Dr. Banks will be presenting on functional medicine and when it should be integrated into your practice.
Kelly Katherine Brinkman, DC (’90), MCS-P, CPCO
Kelly Katherine Brinkman, DC (’90), MCS-P, CPCO, graduated from Logan University in 1990 and is the Clinician and Educational Coordinator at Logan. Dr. Brinkman is also a certified Cox practitioner and a Certified Compliance Peer Reviewer. She is certified as a Medical Compliance Specialist – Physician and a Certified Professional Compliance Officer.
Dr. Brinkman will be presenting an overview of the Cox Flexion Distraction Technique, as well as an overview of the 2024 EM Coding Guidelines. Dr. Brinkman also teaches the four-hour online compliance and risk management course free to attendees over the following six months.
Ronald Robert Castellucci, BS, DC (’90), ACP
Ronald Robert Castellucci, BS, DC (’90), ACP, specializes in chiropractic care for children. An instructor for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Dr. Castellucci teaches a unique analysis and adjusting system using gentle contacts while working with the natural biomechanics of an infant spine. Dr. Castellucci has developed Muscle Palpation techniques for the pediatric spine and designed an elegant spinal analysis tool known as the Touchpoint scan.
Dr. Castellucci will be presenting on how chiropractors can care for newborns, sharing tips and information on pediatric patients.
Steven Robert Conway, DC (’83), DACBOH, JD
Steven Robert Conway, DC (’83), DACBOH, JD, graduated Logan University in and received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. Dr. Conway is CEO of the ChiroLaw law firm and Conway Consulting Group and served as a member of the Wisconsin State Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Wisconsin Bar Association.
Dr. Conway will be leading two sessions at the 2024 Symposium sharing information and explaining Medicare.
Matthew Antonucci, DC, DACNB, FACFN, FABCDD, FABNN, FABVR, FABBIR, FICC
Matthew Antonucci, DC, DACNB, FACFN, FABCDD, FABNN, FABVR, FABBIR, FICC, is an experienced chiropractic neurologist, functional neurology practitioner, researcher and international lecturer with more than a decade of clinical experience. He received his DC degree from Life University and has worked with patients, professionals and organizations including ESPN, Sports Illustrated and more.
Dr. Antonucci will be presenting with Cindy Howard, DC, DACBI, DACBN, on untangling the neuro-metabolic basis of conclusions with chiropractic care. He will also be speaking on early neurological interventions for concussions in a follow-up breakout session.
Timothy J. Bertelsman, DC (’92), CCSP, DACO
Timothy J. Bertelsman, DC (’92), CCSP, DACO, graduated from Logan University with honors in 1992 and has been practicing in Belleville, Ill. since then. He is a board-certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a Diplomate of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists. He is a post-graduate instructor for the University of Bridgeport Orthopedic Diplomate program and is a member of the NCMIC Speakers’ Bureau. Dr. Bertelsman is also the Co-founder of the online clinical and business resource ChiroUp.com.
Dr. Bertelsman will be speaking on optimal strategies for managing lower back pain.
Mark L. Callanen, PT, DPT, OCS
Mark L. Callanen, PT, DPT, OCS, graduated with his transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007 from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and earned his Master of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 1999. Dr. Callanen is currently an adjunct professor for Belmont University’s Physical Therapy Program in Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Callanen will be presenting on complimentary applications of high-power laser and radial pressure wave techniques.
Joseph Daher, DC (’09)
Joseph Daher, DC (’09), the chiropractor and clinical director of the Advanced Wellness Centre in Leamington Ontario Canada, is a lecturer, author and practitioner in the field of pain management, fitness performance and functional rehabilitation. He graduated Logan University in 2009 and attended the Prague School of Rehabilitation in Prague, Czech Republic.
Dr. Daher will be lecturing on spinal stabilization for chiropractic practices.
Andrew Dorough, DC (’12), CACCP
Andrew Dorough, DC (’12), CACCP, graduated from Logan University in 2012 and later earned his CACCP certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Dorough specializes in serving families, pregnant women, and children. Over the past decade of being in practice, his special interest lies in caring for infants who have birth stress, strain, and trauma.
Dr. Dorough will be presenting a clinical evaluation of infant birth stress, strain, and trauma at the 2024 Symposium.
Douglas Gordon, DC (’95)
Douglas Gordon, DC (’95), is a lead instructor for Activator Methods and has been Advanced Proficiency rated in the technique since 1994. He is also trained in full body stretching using the Active Release Technique and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner who has worked for a variety of sports teams and athletes. Dr. Gordon is a Medical Examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. His research has encompassed the mechanics of the body’s physiology during leg length reactivity while in the prone position.
Dr. Gordon will be speaking on the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique with geriatric patients.
Michael Fiscella, DC (’97), DABCO, FACO
Michael Fiscella, DC (’97), DABCO, FACO, is a 1977 graduate of Logan University and is an expert in Receptor Tonus Technique and Endo-Nasal Technique. Dr. Fiscella is a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist and a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists.
Dr. Fiscella will be speaking on the Endo-Nasal-Technique (ENT), a procedure that helps widen the nasal cavities.
Arlan W. Fuhr, DC (’61)
Arlan W. Fuhr, DC (’61), is a 1961 Logan graduate and the Founder and Chairman of Activator Methods International. Dr. Fuhr is the co-inventor of the Activator Adjusting Instrument and the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique, the world’s most widely used instrument adjusting chiropractic technique, currently in use by more than 70 percent of all chiropractors.
Dr. Fuhr will be providing an overview and demonstration of the Activator Method during the 2024 Symposium.
Edward S. Glaser, DPM
Edward S. Glaser, DPM, studied mechanical engineering at SUNY Stonybrook and received a doctorate in podiatric medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He has been lecturing for health care professionals focused on treating United States Military active-duty service members and researching and developing Relax, Release, Relief methodology. RRR is a series of relaxation techniques designed to manually and mechanically interrupt the neurological feedback loop that causes nearly all chronic pain.
During the 2024 Symposium, Dr. Glaiser will be discussing biomechanics for the Foot – MASS Posture Theory.
Navaz Habib, DC
Navaz Habib, DC, is the author of ‘Activate Your Vagus Nerve’ and host of ‘The Health Upgrade Podcast.’ Dr. Habib graduated as the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2010 and is the founder of ‘Health Upgraded,’ an online functional health consulting clinic, supporting optimal health by elevating the awareness and function of the Vagus nerve.
Dr. Habib will be leading a discussion on the upgrading of the vagus nerve to control inflammation.
Phil Harrington, DC, CMLSO, FASMLS
Phil Harrington, DC, CMLSO, FASMLS, is a 1987 graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Physics and a 1996 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Harrington’s passion for Class 4 therapeutic laser has led him to become a sought-after national and international lecturer on photobiomodulation science, physiology, safety and clinical applications. Dr. Harrington currently serves as Medical Director, Clinical Manager and Laser Safety Officer for Summus Medical Laser.
Dr. Harrington will be talking about managing peripheral neuropathy with laser therapy at the 2024 Symposium.
Steven L. Heffner, DC, Diplomate MDT
Steven L. Heffner, DC, Diplomate MDT, is a Chiropractic Physician for the Laurel Health System and performs their Electrodiagnostic Testing. He is an expert in the McKenzie Method and also performs remote work for Aligned Modern Health. Dr. Heffner has been a member of the McKenzie International Faculty for the past 13 years as the only chiropractor and is Certified to perform Electrodiagnostic Testing of which he performed for the UPMC Health System in Williamsport and Wellsboro, Pa.
Dr. Heffner will be speaking on the McKenzie Method in chiropractic assessment.
Cindy Howard, DC, DABCI, DACBN, FIAMA, FICC
Cindy M. Howard, DC, DABCI, DACBN, FIAMA, FICC, is a Board-Certified Chiropractic Internist and Nutritionist in private practice and the owner of Innovative Health & Wellness Center in Orland Park, Ill. Dr. Howard has served as the Illinois delegate for the American Chiropractic Association and is a past president of the ACA Council on Diagnosis and Internal Disorders. She currently serves as the Vice President of the College of Pharmacology and Toxicology and on the medical advisory board for Fullscript, the Functional Medicine University.
Dr. Howard will be presenting with Matthew Antonucci, DC, DACNB, FACFC, FICC, on untangling the neuro-metabolic basis of conclusions with chiropractic care. She will be expanding her presentation in a follow-up breakout session.
Jennifer C. Kane, DC (’01), FIAMA
Jennifer C. Kane, DC (’01), FIAMA, is a 2001 graduate of Logan University. She practices in Ellisville, Mo., and emphasizes mind-body healing by incorporating chiropractic care, acupuncture, nutrition and hypnosis. She was a Clinician at Logan University in the Student Health Center from 2004 to 2010 and at St. Peters Health Center from 2010 to 2015. Dr. Kane has helped teach the 100-Hour Acupuncture Certification at Logan University as an adjunct faculty member since 2019.
Dr. Kane will be presenting with Aimee Jokerst, DC, FIAMA, on the practical applications in the treatment of headaches through acupuncture.
Robert Kuhn, DC (’85), DACBR, ART®
Robert Kuhn, DC (’85), DACBR, ART®, received an AS degree from Empire State College in New York and earned BS in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from Logan University. He completed a three-year Radiology Residency in 1990 and successfully passed the radiology board exams and earned Diplomate status from the American Chiropractic College of Radiology. In addition to Radiology classes, he has taught a wide range of other topics including Chiropractic Philosophy, Physical Diagnosis Lab, Laboratory Diagnosis Lab, Dermatology, Active Release Technique, Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary and has recently become certified to teach Selective Functional Movement Assessment.
Dr. Kuhn will be speaking at the 2024 Symposium on soft tissue techniques for chiropractic care.
Anthony Miller, DC (’99)
Anthony ‘Tony’ Miller, DC (’99), is a board-certified chiropractic physician specializing in the multidisciplinary management of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Miller received his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and his DC degree from Logan University. Dr. Miller founded St. Louis Sports Medicine in 2020 and is a chiropractic physician and consultant for numerous amateur and professional athletes on nutrition, supplementation and athletic training programs. For more than 20 years, Dr. Miller has used a variety of non-surgical modalities to treat patients and provide long-term relief for pain and dysfunction because of a wide range of orthopedic injuries and conditions. He is also an associate professor in Logan University’s Chiropractic Science Department, teaching spinal and extremity assessment, manipulation technique and integrative management of orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Miller will be speaking on the Diversified Extremity Technique, a hands-on approach to spinal manipulation.
Eric S. Moll, DC (’07)
Eric S. Moll, DC (’07), received his DC from Logan and has served in a variety of roles. He has owned his own practice, served as Clinic Director for the nation’s largest refrigerated trucking company, been an adjunct faculty member, independent chiropractic examiner, DOT medical examiner, continuing education instructor and currently serves as Vice President of Treatment Standards for the largest employer of Chiropractors.
At the 2024 Symposium, Dr. Moll will be presenting insights on manual therapy and rehab for the desk athlete.
Brandon Steele, DC (’09), FACO
Brandon Steele, DC (’09), FACO, is a 2009 graduate of Logan and currently is in private practice at Premier Rehab in the greater St. Louis area. He began his career creating and implementing rehabilitation programs for members of the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams, and Blues. Dr. Steele currently lectures extensively on evidence-based treatment of musculoskeletal disorders for the University of Bridgeport’s diplomate in orthopedics program. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (FACO) and a member of the NCMIC speaker’s bureau. Dr. Steele is also the co-founder of ChiroUp.com, a resource used around the world by practicing chiropractors and colleges.
Dr. Steele will be hosting two breakout sessions on practical management on mastering the rotator cuff.
Joseph F. Unger, DC (’79), FICS
Joseph Unger, DC (’79), FICS, graduated from Logan in 1979 and focuses on Sacro Occipital Technic™ Methods of chiropractic and chiropractic craniopathy. He has been involved with the SORSI Board of Directors since 1979 and is currently past president of that organization, chairing its research committee. Having studied and utilized chiropractic craniopathy for over 45 years, he recognizes the tremendous value of this underappreciated art and science.
Dr. Unger will be presenting, “A Model of Visceral Somatic Reflexes in Chiropractic: Anatomy, Neurology and Therapeutic Strategies” at the Symposium.
Ryan K. Van Matre, DC (’99), MS, LAc
A Logan graduate, Ryan K. Van Matre, DC (’99), MS, Lac, studied at the Prague School and received a Master of Science in Therapeutic Outcomes Research from Indiana University. He has taught over 300 hours of post-graduate courses in functional rehabilitation and has worked at two Super Bowls and on the PGA Tour. Dr. Van Matre currently works as head chiropractor for Purdue University Sports Medicine and has been with the Indianapolis Colts for the past 17 seasons.
Dr. Van Matre will be speaking at the 2024 Symposium about his practice’s success with evidence-based care.
Terry Robert Yochum, DC, DACBR, Fellow, ACCR, FICC
Terry Robert Yochum, DC, DACBR, Fellow, ACCR, FICC, graduated from the National College of Chiropractic, where he subsequently completed his radiology specialty. He is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology and served as its Vice-President and President for seven years. Dr. Yochum is currently Director of the Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado, and an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the Southern California University of Health Sciences. Dr. Yochum has presented over 1,500 lectures worldwide and has had over 250 scientific articles published in both chiropractic and medical literature.
Dr. Yochum will be hosting two sessions with his daughter Alicia M. Yochum, RN, DC (’11), DACBR, RMSK, sharing case studies from their practice.
Alicia M. Yochum, RN, DC (’11), DACBR, RMSK
A 2011 graduate of Logan University, Alicia M. Yochum, RN, DC (’11), DACBR, RMSK, and received her DACBR, becoming the first second-generation DACBR in the history of chiropractic. Dr. Yochum has published many articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured around the country and internationally. She completed her fellowship in musculoskeletal advanced imaging at Logan University with an emphasis on musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound.
Dr. Yochum will be hosting two sessions with her father Terry Robert Yochum, DC, DACBR, Fellow, ACCR, FICC, sharing case studies from their practice.
Brad Glowacki, DC
Brad Glowacki, DC, is a graduate of the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and has been teaching other doctors for the last 20 years around the world. ‘Dr. Glow’ educates patients on a healthier lifestyle in his own practice and has been helping doctors create procedures to educate their patients on how health comes from the inside out. Dr. Glowacki has his own private practice in California, helping mostly families and some high-profile Olympic and Professional Athletes daily.
Dr. Glowacki will be sharing communication strategies for doctors at the 2024 Symposium.
Brett Winchester, DC (’03)
Brett Winchester, DC (’03), is a 2003 graduate of Logan University and lectures throughout the world, teaching his functional approach to patient care. Combining manual therapy, including joint manipulation and neuromuscular stabilization, with therapeutic exercise, Dr. Winchester effectively treats functional pathologies and acts as a catalyst for patients working to enhance their performance. Dr. Winchester is the founder of Winchester Spine & Sport and has also worked with the St. Louis Cardinals as the team chiropractic.
At the 2024 Symposium, Dr. Winchester will discuss contemporary chiropractic concepts.
Lauren Hendrix, DC (‘10), MS-SSR (’13)
Lauren Hendrix, DC (‘10), MS-SSR (’13), received both her DC degree and Masters of Sports Science in from Logan University. Dr. Hendrix speaks to female sports teams throughout the Midwest and is on a mission to change how women work with their bodies. Dr. Hendrix specializes in working with a women’s physiology, not against it, and strives daily to empower females of all ages to do the same.
Dr. Hendrix will be presenting on female athlete specific research at the 2024 Symposium.
Mary Unger-Boyd, DC (’97), DICS, CACCP
Mary Unger-Boyd, DC (’97), DICS, CACCP, graduated from Logan in 1997 and is currently an Associate Professor in Logan’s DC program. Dr. Unger-Boyd has also taught Sacro Occipital Technic (SOT®), Logan Basic Methods, Pediatrics and myofascial techniques. Dr. Unger-Boyd earned the Certified Craniopathic from Sacro Occipital Research Society International (SORSI), a Diplomat with the International Craniopathic Society (ICS) and obtained Certification from the Academy of Family Practice and Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP).
Dr. Unger-Boyd will be presenting on lumbar vertebrogenic/discogenic protocols in SOT methods.
Matt Queen
Matt Queen is the founder and owner of the marketing company Chiropraise. With over a decade of experience in marketing exclusively for chiropractors, Matt has carved a unique niche that has revolutionized the way Chiropractic practices grow and thrive.
Matt will be presenting “Adjust Your Marketing, Align Your Practice” at the 2024 Symposium.
Theresa DeLorenzo, DCN, RD
Theresa DeLorenzo, DCN, RD, is the Program Director for Logan’s Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance and serves as the team dietitian for USA Para Powerlifting. Dr. DeLorenzo is a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration and owns a sports nutrition practice, Nutrition for Optimal Performance. Dr. DeLorenzo received her 200-hour yoga teaching certification and is now obtaining a yoga therapy certification to work with athletes and those looking to reduce anxiety or lose weight.
At the 2024 Symposium, Dr. DeLorenzo will be sharing tools to battle menopause mayhem.
Weston Holzinger, DC (’16), MS (’16), DABCI
Dr. Weston Holzinger, DC (‘16), MS (‘16), DABCI, received his DC degree and Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan. He currently works as an Assistant Professor, instructing in courses of the DC program surrounding nutrition science, wellness, laboratory testing, diagnosis and other clinical science and methods topics. Among some of Dr. Holzinger’s awards and certifications are the Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists, 100-Hr certifications in applied kinesiology and acupuncture and additional educational certifications in advanced AK techniques, nutrition and functional medicine programs.
Dr. Holzinger will be presenting on the topic of insulin resistance.
