Logan Celebrates First Graduating Class from Strength & Conditioning Program

On April 22, 2023, seven students made history when they became the first graduating class from Logan’s Master of Science in Strength & Conditioning (MS-SC) program. The program was announced in the fall of 2021 and classes officially began in summer 2022.

The MS-SC program’s founder and faculty members know high-performing athletes deserve the most qualified, well-rounded athletic performance coaches. With a science-based, evidence-informed curriculum, this industry-driven program was developed and is led by experienced, active coaches in athletic performance.

“We’re very proud of the program that we’ve built,” said Brittany Ramirez, DC (’15), MS (’18), LAT, ATC, CCSP®, program director for Logan’s MS-SC program. “This degree is just another step in advancing the education within the strength and conditioning profession, and Logan is honored to play a part in that.”

Upon graduation from this one-year, online program, students are prepared to sit for the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam. Experienced coaches can obtain a degree specific to the strength and conditioning field in order to advance their career opportunities.

In addition to being proud of the students and the MS-SC degree program, Dr. Ramirez is thrilled with the establishment of the Dr. Ken Leistner Memorial Scholarship, which awards $1,000 to one strength and conditioning student every trimester. This scholarship was created in honor of the late Kenneth Evan Leistner, DC (’80), world-renowned chiropractor and strength and fitness coach.

“This scholarship is very special to me and my family as it memorializes a coach who played a significant role in furthering the strength and conditioning field and was an incredibly giving and selfless individual. This scholarship also breaks down barriers and allows students to further their education while offsetting some of the costs,” said Dr. Ramirez. “Our goal is for coaches everywhere to be able to advance their education without sacrificing their careers, and our online, asynchronous program allows them to do exactly that.”
