LOGAN “OFFICIALLY” CELEBRATED ITS 75 TH BIRTHDAY ON SEPT. 1.

Logan College of Chiropractic officially began classes on Sept. 1, 1935.  To mark this historic date, Logan faculty member Dr. Patrick Montgomery presented a commemorative plaque from the Association for the History of Chiropractic to Dr. George A. Goodman, Logan president, on Sept. 1, 2010, 75 years after the college formally began operations.          

LOGAN GRADUATES 50 NEW DOCTORS OF CHIROPRACTIC AND  20 MASTER’S DEGREE STUDENTS AT 162 nd COMMENCEMENT

Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs held its 162nd commencement for the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the William D. Purser, DC Center on the Logan campus in suburban St. Louis. The ceremony, which included the academic hooding of each graduate, honored 50 students with the conferral of the Doctor of Chiropractic degree by Logan President George A. Goodman, DC, FICC. Twenty students received their Masters in Sports Science and Rehabilitation degrees from Logan University Programs. The commencement speaker was David Chapman-Smith, LLB, who was instrumental in the founding of the World Federation of Chiropractic in 1988 and has served as its secretary general since that time.

Seven graduates were recognized with special academic honors. Valedictorian Kelly Marie Svitak graduated summa cum laude. Nicholas Andrew Brown and Daniel Luis Yinh graduated magna cum laude. Cum laude graduates included Noah J. Moos, Kathleen Heather Hechst, Clinton Joseph Daniels and Michelle Lynne Moser.

NOTE:  Established in 1935, Logan College is celebrating its diamond anniversary in 2010. Logan has approximately 1,100 students at its 112-acre campus in Chesterfield, Mo., a western suburb of St. Louis, and is one of the largest chiropractic colleges or universities in North America.  Logan operates on a year-round basis and graduates approximately 300 students per year.  The college provides health and wellness care for patients in the St. Louis metropolitan area through eight local health centers in St. Louis, St. Louis County and St. Charles County.

As Logan University, the school also offers a master's degree in sports science and rehabilitation that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of North Central.  This program is open to chiropractic students, doctors of chiropractic and eligible non-chiropractic professionals.
